KARACHI: Although Pakistani politicians know the art to remain in headlines for their high security protocols and lavish spending, but former president Asif Ali Zardari took an edge in this regard.

On Tuesday evening, the Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman returned to Karachi from Hub on a helicopter; he did not step out of the copter for minutes until the red carpet rolled out for him.

Video footage showed King Zaradri’s copter landed at Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim and workmen were rolling out red carpets in his path between the helicopter and his white Land Cruiser. After the carpet was laid out Zardari also came-out and took the few steps to cover long distance of a few feet to reach his vehicle; might be no one gave him the idea of using sedan to avoid walk.

Land Cruiser was driven to his residence less than a kilometer from the Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim.
