Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yaseen Malik has been shifted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after his health severely deteriorated, the family sources reported.
Yaseen Malik was earlier shifted to a medical institute in Srinagar after his condition deteriorated on Saturday, hours after protests were held in the area, the Kashmiri Media Service reported Sunday.
Moreover, it is being reported that his left arm had stopped working. Meanwhile, the Kashmiri leader’s wife, Mishal Malik fell unconscious after hearing the news and was being given medical treatment.
According to the sources, Yaseen Malik underwent various medical tests. He is suffering from a severe infection and has been advised to undergo a surgery. Later on, he was shifted to Soura Medical Institute where he was admitted to ICU.
Speaking to the press yesterday along with PTI’s Vice Chairperson Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Mishal Malik said that her husband Yaseen Malik has grown very weak and lost over 15kg. She went on to say that last week he was taken to hospital in army’s custody where his medical tests were conducted and results were alarming.
Yaseen Malik has been under custody since July 9 when protests against the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani erupted across Indian-held Kashmir. Over 100 people have been martyred and hundreds of protesters wounded in clashes with Indian security forces.
