The Islamabad High Court (IHC) barred a controversial television host and anchor Amir Liaquat Hussain, a media hitch-hiker, from making television appearances till further notice on the 13th of December 2017.
The IHC’s decision resulted in response to a petition filed by Muhammad Abbas, a citizen of Pakistan, who was looking for a complete ban on the host from making appearances on television, print media and social media.
Amir Liaquat has not appeared on television as advised by the court ever since. According to Mr. Liaquat, “he has already petitioned against the decision and is now waiting for the court to clear him for a television appearance”.
Prior to any decision of IHC, he resolved to start his own website alhnews.com where he publishes material in Urdu.
He is also maintaining few social media pages for the said-website along with a YouTube channel where he hosts discussions on current affairs. Let us see how far it goes for a host as whimsical as he is.
