Women are unsafe in the capital city, admits Nisar

Islamabad: The Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday admitted that women are also unsafe in Islamabad.

While submitting his written response during Question-Answer session of the Senate, Chaudhry Nisar said that during 2015, 15 rape cases were reported in Islamabad, which rose to 39 in 2016, as reported by media sources.

Nisar was reporting about cases of murder and murder attempt, when he stated that 160 percent increase is observed in rape cases just in the capital city of Pakistan.

He told that 16 children were reported missing, among them 9 have been recovered, whereas, seven are still missing.

Interior Minister also submitted details over the arrest of anti state agents and informed that 799 terrorists were apprehended from Khyber Paktunkhwa (KPK). He added that 418 saboteurs were detained from Punjab, 178 from Sindh while from Balochistan 40 terrorists were arrested.

Government also informed that 4,461 bank accounts were also frozen under Anti Terrorism Act.
