Woman martyred due to Indian firing along LoC

Rawalpindi: A woman martyred on Saturday in Azad Jammu Kashmir as Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC), Inter Services Public Relations said in a statement.

According to the military media wing Indian forces again violated the ceasefire today and targeted civilian population in Kot Kehtera sector. The firing resulted in the martyrdom of elderly woman of 60-year in village Thandi Kassi, Pallandri, Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

Pakistani forces gave effective response to Indian troops for violation of ceasefire along LoC; they silenced army guns.

This is, at least, the third violation of ceasefire in less than 10 days.

On March 12, four Pakistan citizens, including 15-year-old girl and an elderly man were injured in the cross-border firing by Indian troops in Chaffar, Chari Kot and Kakuta villages near Abbaspur of Ponch Sector, AJK.

Earlier, a woman also suffered severe injuries when Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control in Borough area of Bhimber sector, AJK.

Tension between two countries, i.e. Pakistan and India, reached peak after Uri attack, following which India claimed to have carried out surgical strikes along the Line of Control in which two Pakistani soldiers were martyred. However, it remained unsuccessful to provide evidence of the ‘strike.’
