Will not rest till peace restored in Karachi, says PM

Karachi: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday has promised Karachittes that he would not rest until peace is restored in metropolitan city.

He said in 2013 with mutual contest Karachi operation was started due to which the situation is much better than past.

Prime Minister was chairing a high level meeting in Governor House Karachi regarding organizational issues and development projects, which was attended by several Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s (PMLN’s) leaders.

While speaking at the meeting, he said that circular railway project has becone a part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and ensured that the work on the project will resumed earlier.

He observed that if development in the city had remained at the same rate as it was in 70s then Karachi would be among marvelous cities of Asia.

PM said that the federal government resumed work on Motorway project in Sindh; he added, “federal government will provide 50 percent funds for K4 project for the provision of clean water in the city.”

He also expressed concern over the garbage-strewn streets of the Karachi.

Later, in afternoon, he also attended Holi festival; PM is also expected to meet with business community today.
