ISLAMABAD: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) has presented the resolution to change the holiday from Sunday to Friday in the National Assembly on Tuesday.
JI resolution has been presented keeping in view their stance that the holiday on Friday shall enhance the interest and time in kids for offering prayers especially Jumma prayer.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif was of the view that there is nothing like Friday’s holiday in Quran or Sunnah, so the whole week should be working week.
Opposition leader Khurshid Shah suggested that the holiday resolution should be sent to the concerned committee so that there may not arise any kind of difficulty in its application after it is approved by the National Assembly. It can create troubles for the government, he added.
Afterwards, Mr Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq sent the resolution for Friday holiday to the concerned committee.
