US Congress takes step to crush Obamacare
Washington: The US parliamentarians have finally taken the step to crush the President Barack Obama’s healthcare law, the sources revealed Saturday.
It is noteworthy here that Republican members have introduced a budget step for the said law that would make it easy to pass and the Democrats would be unable to overcome it, the sources added.
But on the other hand, the lawmakers of both the parties have nothing in their hands for the replacement of the law, commonly known as Obamacare.
Moreover, if Obamacare is demolished, the MPs would have to deliver a new one to replace with it in order to give medical coverage to over 20 million Americans.
The move has been passed in the House with the vote 277-198 giving a blow to Obama who has a week to quit the White House.
“By taking the first step toward repealing Obamacare, we are closer to giving Americans relief from the problems this law has caused,” House Speaker Paul Ryan said in a statement following the vote.
“This resolution gives us the tools we need for a step-by-step approach to fix these problems and put Americans back in control of their health care.”
It is pertinent to mention here that Obamacare has been providing healthcare subsidies to millions of people in the US. Moreover, this law has banned the rich people from refusing coverage to people who are ill and couldn’t afford the health facilities. It also curbs medical charges for the sick and elderly.
But the law had been severely criticized by rising premiums and large fees.
On the urge of Donald Trump, the Republicans have pledged to crush the Obamacare law but they didn’t give any replacement for this.
