Two people involved in Amjad Sabri murder arrested, informs Sindh CM
Karachi: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials have arrested two people involved in murder of renowned qawwal Amjad Sabri and other high profile cases, this was informed by Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah while holding a press conference here on Monday.
He told that the CTD officials headed by Raja Umar Khattab raided in the area of Liaqatabd on a tip-off and arrested two people Ishtiaq alias Boby and Asim alias Capri.
“Plenty of Weapons have also been recovered from their possession and the department officials found proofs of their involvement in 28 cases”, the CM added.
Moreover, the accused are affiliated with Lashkar-i-Jhangvi Naeem Bukhari group, the chief minister said.
“Asim alias Capri was Amjad Sabri’s neighbor but the CTD officials couldn’t find any strong motive behind the murder but it seems sectarian because Amjad Sabri used to attend majalis”, he said.
The CM Sindh informed that there was conclusive proof that the two were part of a gang involved in nine major incidents.
He went on to say that they would try to follow the lead through the arrested ones and apprehend rest of the gang,” he said.
