Taimur Murder Case: Challan declares main accused innocent

Islamabad: Islamabad police on Friday has presented the challan about murder of a young man “Taimur” who was gunned down by the police personnel at check-post in sector I-10, Islamabad, on February 3, 2017.

Taimur Murder case was heard today by judge Muhammad Amir Khalil in Civil Judicial Magistrate court, Islamabad.

The police has termed the move of their professional brother Samiullah as unintentional. Challan said that the constable’s firing was not intended to kill Temur, but when he did not stop his car at the order, firing was opened to stop him.

Police has also included the name of co-accused Tariq in the list of main witnesses whereas the girl “Maheen” who was accompanying the victim has also been named as witness of the scene.

The case was filed against Samiullah Niazi, main accused, and Tariq, the two police officials, charged for killing a youth Taimur Riaz in Islamabad Sector I-10 on February 3 for not stopping at a check post. Case was registered by Taimur’s brothers in Sabzi Mandi Police Station. When the incident happened a young lady named Maheen was also along with him.
