Supreme Court of Pakistan has allowed Dr Amir Liaqat to air the program “Aisy nae chly ga” on Bol News but with some conditions.
There should not be aired anything based on sectarianism or any kind of hate speech in his program according to the Supreme Court.
The famous anchor person and analyst Dr Amir Liaqat’s program “Aiy nae chly ga” was banned by PEMRA due to hate speech and now it got permission to be aired but with some conditions.
Supreme Court has asked the private channel Bol that it has to submit the main summary of any program of Dr Amir Liaqat in the Additional Registrar Judicial’s office.
Chief Justice of Pakistan also said that in case of any violation, channel would be responsible to face the consequences.
The PEMRA Chairman Absaar Alam told the court that Amir was preaching hatred through the program while Amir was of the view that the previous order of court was for the channel not for him and this is why Supreme Court has given permission to air the program again.
Amir Liaqat also apologized in the court. Justice Aijaz Ul Hassan said “if Supreme Court allows to air the program then what is the issue? PEMRA should solve the issues within a week and if PEMRA does not want Amir to appear on TV then this is a serious issue because freedom of speech is everyone’s right.”
He also pointed out to Mr Hussain that he should also control his expressions while speaking on something sensitive.
