SHC grants bail to three activists of MQM-London

Karachi: The Sindh High Court on Tuesday has granted bail to three activists of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-London), who were booked under terrorism and sedition charges.

The bench of the high court granted bail to Javed Shaukat, Hassan Aalim and Faisal and ordered each accused to deposit surety bonds of two lac.

The court also asked to submit passports of each accused in trial court. The bench also remarked that sufficient evidences against accused were not found.

It is important to mention that anti-terrorism court (ATC) had rejected bail pleas of the three suspects.

Previously MQM’s MNA Kanwar Naveed Jamil was granted ail by the ATC in five cases including sedition charges after he deposited the surety amount. In addition to Kanwar several other members of MQM have been granted bail including Waseem Akhtar, Khwaja Izharul Hassan, Qamar Mansoor and Rauf Siddiqui.

Whereas, several other including Amir Liaquat Hussain, Farooq Sattar have been declared proclaimed offenders in the case and Federal Investigation Agency had written to Interpol about red-warrants of MQM’s founder Altaf Hussain.
