Shahrukh’s fan failed to break box office records

Not a very good news for the Fans of Shahrukh Khan and ‘Fan” as his recent movie failed to show the magic on box office in weekdays after getting positive reviews. The Maneesh Sharma-directed film hasn’t seen much growth at the ticket windows after its first three days. On its fifth day too, Fan is supposed to have earned about Rs 6 crore.

The film manged to open with a fabulous Rs 19.2 crore on April 15. Over the next two days, it saw a business of Rs 15.4 crore on Saturday, followed by Rs 17.75 crore on Sunday. On Monday, the box-office figures were pretty disappointing as far as the business of an average Shah Rukh Khan film is concerned.

Film Fan earned Rs 6.05 crore on its fourth day at the box office, taking the total to Rs 58.4 crore. On its fifth day at the theatres, Fan has been able to earn only about Rs 6 crore, according to early estimates. That takes the total collection of the film to about Rs 64 crore in five days.

Last year Shah Rukh Khan’s last release, Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale, had been able to cross the Rs 100-crore mark in India in just a week of its release. However, if the trade trends are anything to go by, Fan doesn’t seem to be able to make it to the Rs 100-crore club in India very soon.
The fan hit the screens on April 15 this year and received positive reviews from critics. In the first two-three days, the business of Fan too was in tandem with the rave reviews that the film received. Nevertheless, over the next two days, the film hasn’t been able to do anything phenomenal at the box office.

The much-awaited fil Fan is the first of Shah Rukh’s two releases this year. Shahrukh Khan will next be seen on the big screen in Rahul Dholakia’s Raees which will come on screen on Eid 2016 release.

Film Fan is a tribute from the actor to his fans. The film revolves around the lives of superstar Aryan Khanna, modeled on Shah Rukh himself, and Gaurav Chandna, Aryan’s die-hard fan. Both the roles are essayed by Khan. Apart from SRK, Fan also has Deepika Amin, Yogendra Tikoo, Waluscha de Sousa, Sayani Gupta and Shriya Pilgaonkar in key roles.
