Shahid Afridi apologizes over poor performance in WT20

Lahore: Shahid Afridi apologized to the nation over the team’s poor performance in ICC World Twenty20 on Wednesday.

According to details, in a video statement issued on a social media website, Afridi stated that he was sorry that the team’s performance was not up to par with the public’s expectations.

Pakistan cricket team was not just a squad of eleven players but rather a team of the entire nation, he added.

Afridi stated that he had been playing for Pakistan for the past 20 years and went down to play in the field with emotions that reflected those of the entire nation.

He stated that he was only addressing the Pakistan team’s fans, adding further that he was not concerned what anybody was thinking of him.

The T20 captain stated that he was disappointed over the team’s dismissal from the International tournament.

Pakistan failed to perform in the tournament losing three of the matches against India, New Zealand and Australia while managing to secure only against Bangladesh.
