Senate passed resolution call government to take concrete steps for repatriation of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui

Islamabad, Nov. 15 (Online): The Senate on Thursday passed a resolution calling upon the government to take concrete steps for repatriation of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui at the earliest.

The resolution, moved by Senator Talha Mahmood, showed serious concerns on continues detention of Dr. Aafia Siddiqi in the United States.  It appreciated the efforts of the Parliament of Pakistan it had made for repatriation of the daughter of the nation.

The resolution reiterated that there is a dire need to take up the matter with the United States again to bring Aafia Siddiqui back.

Earlier, the house offered fateha for the departed soul of martyred SP Tahir Khan Dawar. Senators paid rich tributes to SP Tahir Khan Dawar and demanded of the government to unearth the mystery behind this incident.
