Senate committee demands permanent foreign minister
Islamabad: Members of Senate committee on Wednesday have demanded a permanent foreign minister for Pakistan.
The in-camera session of the entire committee of Senate was presided over by Chairman of Senate Raza Rabbani.
Moreover, it was informed to the committee members that DG ISI Rizwan Akhtar couldn’t attend the session because of occupied schedule. He would attend the forthcoming sessions of the Senate committee, the members were told.
The demand of foreign minister was put up by the members of parliament because in their point of view, the Kashmir dispute has not successfully been presented at the United Nations General Assembly forum.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is performing extra duty as foreign minister of Pakistan. On the other hand, Sartaj Aziz is performing his duties as Advisor for Foreign Affairs.
Moreover, it was demanded that Kashmir desks would be initiated in embassies across all the offices and a new policy regarding Kashmir must be formulated.
The members went on to say that Pakistan needs a foreign minister because case of Kalboshan Yadev is before us that has not been presented at the world forum in its true spirit and as per its requirements.
