SC sustains orders to remove Ayyan Ali’s name from ECL

Islamabad: While hearing the petition of contempt of court filed by Ayyan Ali against Interior Ministry, Supreme Court, on Tuesday, sustained its previous orders to remove the name of the model from Exit Control List case.

Court said that Ayyan is not restricted to travel abroad; the decision had already been given. The petition was heard by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar.

Justice Saqib Nisar asked the interior ministry’s representative whether they followed the apex court’s orders. He said that after the the order of SC to remove model Ayyan Ali’s name from ECL, all pleas are of zero worth. He also said that the detailed decision will come later.

Court also instructed to follow its decision and to act on it soon.

Earlier, in the end of January, Supreme Court rejected the appeal of Interior Ministry to keep Ayyan Ali’s name in Exit Control List and passed witty remarks. It sustained the Sind High Court’s order to remove Ayyan’s name from ECL.

Interior Ministry took no action on the Supreme Court’s orders and did not allow the model to take off; on which Ayyan filed a petition of contempt of court against Interior Secretary in the Supreme Court.
