SC expresses resentment over making wrong statement by NAB investigation officer
ISLAMABAD (Online): Supreme Court (SC) while ordering Prosecutor General (PG) for appearing before it in persons and production of complete record in Wapda Housing Society Multan (WHSM) corruption case has adjourned the hearing of the case after Eid ul Fitr.
SC expressed resentment over making wrong statement by NAB investigation officer before it.
Justice Shaikh Azmat Saeed remarked “ why wrong statement was given before the court. When statement of society registrar has not been recorded then why you play tricks. What we ask you give reply about some thing else. If you give wrong statement again then you will go to jail instead of office of NAB.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed took up the case for hearing today.
NAB special prosecutor told the court during the hearing of the case that the accused Saeed sold out residential plots as commercial plots and corruption over one billion rupees was committed in the matter of exchange of plots. The accused be not granted bail.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed remarked NAB officers are responsible officers of the state. NAB investigation officer plays tricks in the court. Complete record of the case be presented in the court. PG should appear before court in person on next hearing.
The court adjourned the hearing of case after Eid ul Fitr.
