ISLAMABAD, August 17 (Online): Supreme Court (SC) has directed Provincial Bar Council to complete inquiry within 6 weeks in the case of suspension of licences in respect of 2 lawyers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
A 2-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Amir Hani Muslim took up the case for hearing Wednesday.
The counsel for the petitioner argued that high court suspended the licence of the lawyers without issuing show cause notices.
Justice Amir Hani Muslim remarked that high court is entitled to suspend licence.
The counsel for the petitioner said the lawyers were facing financial woes in the wake of cancellation of their licences. He prayed the court to set aside the decision about the suspension of the licences and order for their restoration.
Justice Amir Hani Muslim remarked “ this matter should be resolved by lawyers representative organisation Bar council.
The court, while directing KP Bar council to complete inquiry within 6 weeks, disposed of the case.
