Shah Rukh Khan has given his strongest hint yet that the much talked about Eid clash between ‘Raees’ and ‘Sultan’ could be averted.
Looks like the clash of SRK-starrer Raees and Salman Khan’s Sultan is going to be averted after all. Both films were set to release on Eid this July. It is learnt that the makers of Raees are going to announce their decision in a couple of days. They want to make the announcement before the release of Sultan trailer (along with Fan, releasing this Friday), to avoid unnecessary speculation that the Salman’s power-packed trailer caused them to push their date.
He told PTI, I think it would be logical to shift (release dates of both Raees and Sultan). We will try and figure out a way so that it doesn’t eat into each other’s business. It is awkward. It’s like what are we doing. I don’t think we would like to have it (box office clash).
Adi (Aditya Chopra) is my family and so is Farhan Akhtar (producer of Shah Rukh’s Raees). With all due respect I will speak to Adi and Salman (about avoiding the clash). I have spoken to Farhan already. If we have to change, one of us will move on. If they are adamant or fixated that somehow due to some sense of righteousness, that Eid belongs to Salman Khan, then so be it, said Khan.
Personally Farhan, Adi and I are friends and I don’t think we have ego issues. We all know that if there is an opening number assumed in terms of business we will share it 50-50 or whichever ratio. I am not saying X is a bigger star or Y, said Shah Rukh.
Khan concluded, “As of now, we are making the film ready for Eid. Our production is ready for Eid.”
The two big movies that clashed in 2015 were ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Dilwale’. So the month of August will see some major releases we guess. Stay tuned as we’ll get to you with the release date of Shah Rukh Khan, Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer ‘Raees’.
