Religious scholars should help government to eradicate extremism, says PM


Lahore: Prime Minister Nawaz Sahrif on Friday called on Religious scholars to help government to eliminate extremism and promote peace.

While addressing a seminar at Jamia Naeemia, PM said that scholars should play vital role to promote harmony and unity and must dispel false propaganda and tell real preachings of Islam.

He said, blood is being shed in the country in the name of religion and stressed that Ullema can solve this problem.

PM asserted, some people hijacked religion for their personal motives and asked Jamia Naeema’s administration to play their proper role. He requested scholars to reject arguments which terrorists propagate.

He also said that Pakistan fought world’s biggest war against terrorism and “In these efforts, role of scholars was crucial.”
