KARACHI: According to the sources, a Sindh Rangers official was martyred on Sunday in an exchange of fire with terrorists in Manghopir area.
The identification of the martyred has not been determined so far.
The sources have reported that the Sindh Rangers officials conducted a search operation in a specified area on a tip-off abut the presence of militants.
The militants tried to escape as the Rangers officials approached the vicinity, the sources added. Detail information of the search was not immediately known.
Moreover, the sources reported that the body of the martyred official has been shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
Meanwhile, there has been no official statement on the encounter by the Rangers.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Pakistan Sindh Rangers have been carrying out operations against criminal elements in Karachi for the last three years, which have brought relative peace in the city, home to at least 20 million and is a commercial hub of Pakistan.
