Qadri on toes to hold sit-in, demands JIT for Model Town

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has urged the Supreme Court of Pakistan to refer the Model Town carnage case to Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

Addressing a rally at Nasir Bagh, Lahore, he said his party’s appeal is pending before the high court regarding the Justice Baqir Najfi Commission. He demanded the government to make public the report of the Commission.

He said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is the second name of telling lies, dishonesty and devastation of the country. “I have never seen such a shameless man. After being disqualified, he should have sat at home,” he said.

Qadri said, “The apex court could have ordered handcuffing Nawaz Sharif but the Supreme Court bench dubbed him as a liar, corrupt and dishonest through a unanimous verdict.”

“Shahbaz Sharif you will have to answer the killings of 14 innocent people in Model Town. Shahbaz Sharif and his aides will be hanged as Qisas for killing our workers in Model Town,” he said.

The PAT chief said the Sharif brothers are funding the terrorist organisations. “Sharifs are providing safe havens to terrorists in Punjab and Balochistan.

Qadri also asked the participants of the rally to get ready for a long sit-in. “This time if we conduct a sit-in then it will be the last one.” Qadri took a twist soon after that, saying we are reserving our decision of holding a sit-in. “Had Nawaz Sharif listened to my speech, he would have cancelled his travelling to Lahore through GT Road.”
