Punjab University decides to sell water @ Rs30/ litre

The finance and planning committee of Punjab University allowed starting a filtration plant for the purification of water in university.

Initially, it will cost 40 lac 75 thousand to get installed and then 90 lac more for its activation.

PU will sell water bottles to its employees, residentials and students on a commercial scale and the price for half litre bottle is Rs15.

This plant will produce 4 lac bottles monthly, which is worth nearly 51 lac and it will profit PU approximately 9 lac monthly.

For this project, a committee of 5 members, headed by Director office of research and innovations, has been formed. The 5 members of the committee are Director Orac, Director Institute of Chemistry, Chairman Department of Polymer Engineering, teacher and accountant of Institute of Administrative Sciences.

This plant will purify water by the latest technology. Syndicate will give final approval of this project. This project will be proposed for approval in the next meeting of the syndicate.
