Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Naeem-ul-Haq has sent a Rs. 2-billion defamation notice to the premier’s daughter Maryam Nawaz for carrying out his fake media trial.
The PTI spokesman has asked Maryam Nawaz to submit a reply within 15 days, else the matter would be taken to court of law. The notice states that Maryam carried out fake media trial of Haq by issuing a notice on October 31, 2016 which was later circulated on national media with ill intention.
Haq said that the allegations were false, scandalous and without any evidence. Haq claimed that he suffered a loss of Rs2 billion in wake of media trial. He further said that Maryam Nawaz has was not a member any security but had access to high-level information. The premier’s daughter has also been asked to provide a copy of the Dawn Leaks investigation report without any omission within 15 days.
Previously, Maryam had sent a notice to Haq for accusing her of being responsible for leaking sensitive information discussed at a high-level national security meeting last year. It further read that Maryam was not even a member of any security committee not she had access to any information, discussion or decisions taken at any such meeting.
‘Nehal Hashmi, Tariq Fatemi were made scapegoats’
While talking to the media, the PTI spokesperson said attempts were being made to threaten the judiciary and make ineffective the Joint Investigation Team formed to probe the Panama case. A ‘mafia’ and their ‘godfather’ are involved in humiliating the institutions, while Nehal Hashmi, Pervaiz Rashid and Tariq Fatemi were made the scapegoats,
Hashmi’s party membership was suspended after he made controversial remarks against the judiciary for probing the prime minister and his family over the Panama case, while Fatemi was removed from his position over the Dawn Leaks issue.
