PSL spot fixing scandal: Bookies threatens Irfan’s family

Lahore: Bookies forced Muhamamd Irfan to keep silence and threatened fast bowler’s family, media sources reported.

According to media reports, bookies told Muhmmad Irfan that they knew where his family and children live. Following the threat Irfan kept silence. Irfan has also said that he would file plea against fine of Rs.1 million.

On Wednesday, during media talk, the cricket board’s spokesperson said that the fast bowler’s central contract has been suspended for the period of six months owing to several allegations. Irfan also apologized for his mistake, saying “I apologize if I hurt anyone.”
The cricket board has suspended Ifran after he accepted before anti-corruption unit that bookies contacted him but he did not report it to PCB.
he action has been taken against him under article 2.4.4 which reads: “Failing to disclose to the PCB Vigilance and Security Department (without unnecessary delay) full details of any approaches or invitations received by the Participant to engage in Corrupt Conduct under this Anti-Corruption Code.”
