PESHAWAR: Pakistan cricket team’s captain for T20, Shahid Afridi has announced on Tuesday that he will take 150 Army Public School (APS) students to Dubai for the launch ceremony of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
PSL would be starting next month from February 4.
PSL basically consists of five teams:
- Islamabad United
- Karachi Kings
- Lahore Qalandars
- Peshawar Zalmi
- Quetta Gladiators.
Shahid Khan Afridi announced, “The lack of extracurricular activities at school and college level are alarming and this problem needs to be solved as soon as possible.”
He added: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) are full of talented players who should be given opportunities.
Afridi also talked about his performance in T20 and told that he had always tried to encourage players and cooperate with them. Furthermore, he also criticized the recent performances of Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal that in a team game, each and every individual must contribute for the overall success of team.
Earlier, Boom Boom Afridi also had announced his retirement from the World T20.
Pakistan’s Lala praised the role of people from Fata for Pakistan and added that they are really strong and brave but unfortunately, they are not led properly.
