President Mamnoon Hussain addresses the parliament- Opposition reacts by slogans and then walks out

President Mamnoon Hussain was addressing a joint session of parliament while marred by the slogans of opposition. After raising slogans, opposition members left parliament. 

In the speech, President said, “History will remember the performance of this government always and whenever difficult times came, we always stand united with our parliament”.

As speech was started, the opposition members tainted him with slogans and start to leave the parliament.

When President started his speech, the atmosphere of parliament was surrounded by the slogans of ‘Go Nawaz Go’.

In the speech, the president was talking about the recent federal budget as well as the economic policies of Government.

He also discussed CPEC and said that CPEC will prove a source of development for the entire country.

President also said regarding the Kashmir issue that “it is an unfinished agenda and can only be resolved by the help of UN.

The President said about the activities of the Indian government on LOC and condemned the policies of the Indian government in Kashmir.

He also invited Afghan authorities to come and solve their differences. He further added that whenever they need our help we will stand equally by our Afghan brothers.

The speech was due to begin the new parliament year.

The session was started by the national anthem and recitation of the Holy Quran.

This session by President was a part of the traditions of the parliament.

This was a high profile event and special passes were issued for the entry because senior civilian and military leadership were present at the event.
