PPP may join Khan’s sit-in if govt tortures people, says Aitzaz
LAHORE: Senator of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and renowned lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan today said that his party can join PTI chief Imran Khan in his sit-in of November 2nd if government tried to torture the protests.
He said this as he was talking to media outside Lahore High Court (LHC) adding that his party would review and finalize its decision to stay away from the PTI protest in Islamabad if the political workers are tortured.
Aitzaz added that government has no mandate to torturing any of the protesters and these protestors would be the workers of a political party.
He maintained that Imran Khan is on right stance and reiterated that accountability should begin from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.
Moreover, no national institutions including SECP took up a single measure for accountability, Ahsan said adding the same institutions would have launched full-fledged accountability operation against PM Nawaz regarding Panama papers.
