PPP condemns police torture on PTI workers
Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Qamar-uz Zaman Kaira, condemning the police torture on PTI workers, has said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) government has itself started to ‘lockdown’ the Federal Capital.
Kaira added that the government wants to scare the people of Pakistan and we, as the responsible opposition in the parliament, will not allow them to do so.
He was holding a press conference here on Thursday evening when he condemned the torture of PTI workers by the Islamabad police during a youth convention.
He suggested the government that if it wants peace, it must accept the four points regarding Panama Papers that have been given by the PPP chairperson Bilawal Zardari.
“We demand release of political workers and other members of Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI) on immediate basis,” Kaira maintained.
Kaira informed that it was just a youth convention being held inside a building in which boys and girls were the participants so how the government could order the police for torturing those innocent youth?
He admitted that they (opposition parties) want explanation by all those whose names have been mentioned in the Panama Papers.
