Peshawar: Police has arrested over 30 terror suspects on Saturday during operations in several areas of the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
According to details the search operation was conducted in Gulberg, Peshawar during which over 200 houses were being checked. Police arrested 16 from the area among them 12 were suspected terrorists while four were being detained for having incomplete tenancy documents.
According to police sources drugs were being recovered from apprehended suspects.
During another operation in Pishtakhara area of KPK capital police detained 20 individuals including 11 terror suspects.
Security forces also detained drugs, arms including pistols and dozens of bullets from suspected persons. The operation was conducted in Pishtakhara and its surrounding areas.
Last month, police claimed to arrest 43 persons including Afghan officials and seized a huge cache of weapons from them.
Pakistan Army had launched country-wide operation Raddul Fasaad against militants in the end of February. Thousands have been arrested while several have been killed during operations conducted under the umbrella of Raddul Fassad.
The operation was announced after the emergence of wave of terrorism during the last month which killed over 130 innocents. The operation was aimed to carry out counter terrorism activities all across Pakistan and to target hideouts of militants.
