PM chairs meeting to review the overall situation

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting at PM House today. The meeting focussed on the overall security and economic situation of the country.

The Prime Minister took members of the meeting into confidence on his latest visits to Saudia, Iran and Davos (Switzerland) saying Pakistan’s image abroad has improved which is due to the consolidated efforts of the government’s team. The business leaders and communities from the world over view Pakistan quite positively, for which the economic team of the government deserves recognition and appreciation, added the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the country is on the right track to achieve stability, economic progress and provide a conducive environment for all sectors to perform up to their true potential. Eliminating the menace of terrorism and ensuring a peaceful Pakistan for our future generations is the top most priority of our government and our successes against terrorism and achieving economic stability have created a new hope in our people, stressed the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was briefed in detail on the sad incident of Bacha Khan University, Charsadda and the investigations made so far, in this regard. The Prime Minister reaffirmed his government’s categorical resolve to continue the war on terror until the last terrorist is eliminated from soil of the country. Wiping out terrorism from the motherland is the collective resolve of the state of Pakistan, its government and people of the land, said the Prime Minister. ‘Perpetrators and facilitators of the heinous act of killing our innocent children in the place of their studies will be brought to justice’, reiterated the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister said that the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb has broken the backbone of terrorists who have resorted to targeting soft targets out of sheer frustration, but we will not let their evil agenda to succeed. The Karachi operation also came under discussion during the meeting and it was agreed that since the operation has yielded positive results; the operation will continue till its logical conclusion. The meeting appreciated the matchless sacrifices and coordinated efforts of the Law Enforcement Agencies in regard to operation Zarb-e-Azb and Karachi operation.

The meeting was attended by Khawaja Muhammad Asif Minister for Defence, Mr Muhammad Ishaq Dar Minister for Finance, Ch Nisar Ali Khan Minister for Interior, Mr Pervaiz Rashid Minister for Information, Broadcasting & National Heritage, Mr Ahsan Iqbal Minister for Planning, Development & Reform, Khawaja Saad Rafique Minister for Railways, Mr Sartaj Aziz Advisor to PM, Mr Tariq Fatemi SAPM, Senator Mushahid Ullah Khan, Mr Irfan Siddique SAPM, Dr Asif Kirmani SAPM, Capt (R) Muhammad Safdar MNA and other senior officials of the government.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting to review the performance of development projects of CDA.

Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Mr. Tariq Fazl Chaudhry, Chairman CDA and other senior government officers attended the meeting.

Dr. Tariq Fazl Chaudhry briefed the Prime Minister about progress on on-going projects in Islamabad.

Prime Minister directed that the development work shall be expedited and all the projects shall be completed within the stipulated time.

The Prime Minister emphasised that the development projects shall not in any way affect the city’s national park and the master plan of the capital shall remain intact.

The Prime Minister gave instructions that the Authority shall find innovative ways to remove encroachments and illegal occupation of the state land by employing technology like use of Imagery from Suparco.

The meeting also discussed in details the organisational affairs of CDA. The Prime Minister ordered ban on further recruitment within CDA and said that meritorious officers shall be entrusted with responsibilities by replacing incompetent and dishonest officers.

The Prime Minister also directed to form a municipal police with special training and uniform in CDA for enforcement of regulatory functions of the Authority.
