PM Abbasi lands at Lahore for important dictation from ousted PM

LAHORE: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrived in Lahore Thursday morning for his second meeting in a week with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif.

According to reports the agenda of PM Abbasi’s latest visit to Lahore is attending an important PML-N party meeting at Jati Umrah.

Abbasi was accompanied by Federal Minister for Power Awais Leghari, his adviser on finance, revenue, and economic affairs Miftah Ismail, and Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb.

The PM was received by Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on his arrival in the city.

The party meeting is being chaired by PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif. Others attending the meeting include Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed and Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.

Sources informed that Nawaz will chair another session on the political situation of Balochistan in the afternoon. The meeting is expected to be attended by Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch, Minister for Maritime Affairs Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo, Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party’s Mahmood Khan Achakzai among others.

The PML-N government in Balochistan led by Zehri faced a sudden crisis when some treasury Member Provincial Assembly (MPAs) filed a no-confidence motion and important ministers and advisers switched camps, sparking a series of resignations and sackings.
