Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) leader Zafar Ali Shah on Wednesday has filed a petition in Supreme Court of Pakistan seeking the court martial of former president Asif Ali Zardari, and ex prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

The petitioner has also requested for the court martial of former Pakistan envoy to US Hussain Haqqani.

Zafar said that their names should be put in Exit Control List (ECL) and the court should launch orders to bring Haqqani back to Pakistan.

The petition came following Haqqani’s article in Washington Post in which he claimed that he facilitated CIA by providing operatives in Pakistan, and Abbotabad operation was also conducted by his help. He further claimed that civilian leaders and PPP’s government were aware of it.

“In November 2011, I was forced to resign as ambassador after Pakistan’s military-intelligence apparatus gained the upper hand in the country’s perennial power struggle. Among the security establishment’s grievances against me was the charge that I had faciliated the presence of large numbers of CIA operatives who helped track down bin Laden without the knowledge of Pakistan’s army — even though I had acted under the authorization of Pakistan’s elected civilian leaders,” Haqqani’s article reads.
