PTI declares one-day of mourning with all political activities frozen to show solidarity with ANP
Unfortunately, the cost of the suicide attack in Peshawar last night, claimed the life of Awami National Party (ANP) leader and legal expert, Haroon Bilour,47, in addition to the twenty who lost their lives along with Bilour.
As of now, presently, 62 people reported to be seriously injured in the suicide attack and are seeking medical treatment at Lady Reading Hospital, authorities confirmed.
The explosion occurred late Tuesday night in the Yakatut vicinity moments after Bilour arrived to address a corner meeting for the GE-2018. It was a targeted attack on Haroon Balur. In 2012, his father also lost his life in a suicide attack.
Bilour, the deceased ANP leader, who was to contest the July 25 elections from Peshawar’s PK-78 constituency, would be buried in Wazir Bagh at 5 pm today (Wednesday).
Haroon was rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital in a critical condition but succumbed to his wounds moments later.
In response to the tragic incident, one-day mourning has been announced by Tehreek-e-Insaf. After which all the political campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be frozen for one day.
Fawad Chaudhary, a senior PTI leader, severely condemned the attack on the National Party’s Corner meeting in Yakhatut. The entire nation is in mourning for the sudden and tragic demise of ANP leader, Haroon Balur, and for other people who lost their lives and for those who got injured in the suicide attack.
PTI declared to be in complete solidarity in this moment of loss with ANP. Today, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PTI is canceling all its electoral activities, told Fawad Chaudhary.
