PEMRA issues show cause notice to Koh-i-Noor TV

Islamabad: Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on Saturday issued show cause notice to Koh-i-Noor TV for telecasting anti-Pakistan statement.

According to the notice, during the program “Andar Ki Baat” of Koh-i-Noor channel, analyst Ajmal Niazi spoke out words which were against the honor of Pakistan and hurt the nation.

Telecasted sentences were also not only against section 20(f) of PEMRA Amendment Act 2007, section 15(1) PEMRA rules 2009, Section 3(1-a,e) of Electronic Media Code of Conduct but were also against the constitution of Pakistan.

The notice directed the Koh-i-Noor channel, anchor Kamran Sarfaraz and analyst Dr. Ajmal Niazi to submit their replies until March 10.
