Is your new year’s resolution going to help you have better skin this year?  Do you have nagging skin issues that you’ve just come to accept or are you planning to do something about it and search for better treatments? Do you want to have clearer, more youthful-looking skin this year? If so, then it may be that you still have some room on your list of goals for  2016 to make some clear skin resolutions. We have some tips and advice for you. Do you want to learn more about your skin? Then get excited about your first steps towards your new healthy and youthful looking skin.

Where ever you go, just as your about to step out, you will steal a look into the mirror,as subconsciously everyone wants to look beautiful. Skin is not important just for women but for men too. Every person and everything in this world is beautiful. Every person has unique beauty but sometimes one is  unable to see the extent of beauty. It is important to draw out the potential and maximize the beauty of your skin, which perhaps is the second thing people notice. If eyes are the window to the soul, then skin is the house that holds that window. When your skin looks healthy you feel a  tidal surge of energy which  can be utilized in your daily life.

Being a Dermatologist I feel like a health detective. Looking from the outside can give important information about what’s bubbling up on the inside.  Skin works as a mirror for it reflects the condition of our body and spirit. Physical or mental problems and lifestyle stresses affect the color and texture of the skin. People make judgments about a person’s health from the appearance of the person’s skin. When you meet someone  they pass direct comment, you  look fresh today…. Freshness can be seen only on the skin. This is because our skin is the most visible part  of our physical appearance. Healthy skin is a good indication of a person’s overall level of general health and fitness. Changes in skin could be sign of something as innocent as needing more sleep or requiring extra layer of moisturizer, but be cautious,  in the event it’s

something more, you may need to find out.

Skin is the organ that comes into contact with the rest of the world. It is the body’s largest organ and it has a surface of 1.6-1.8 m^2 and makes up about 16% of entire weight. Our skin works 24/7 to take care of us. Skin  reveals to the world how healthy you are  and how old you are? Positive lifestyle behaviors keep you healthy and your skin looking younger. Its our  responsibility to take care of our skin the way it does ours.

Your skin health is important not only for your appearance, but more importantly because your skin performs so many essential tasks for your body. Human skin is a bulwark, a container, a thermostat, a rich energy depot, a vitamin and lubricant producer. Skin is a habitat,works as a teeming host of bacteria and other microbes that live on its surface, much as we live on the outer skin of our planet. Skin works as a sensor, When it touches the outside world, it senses texture, pressure, and temperature. Skin also records pleasures, like  the healing sensations of a massage or the soothing textures of cosmetics.


Skin reveals  stories of your life, from the fabled glow to the spots that surface from sun damage. Protection from the sun rays, but there are many other simple health moves that can keep your skin in fabulous shape, decade after decade.

There are two main layers of the skin: the epidermis (outer layer) and the dermis ( inner layer). Underneath the epidermis, new skin cells are forming. When the cells are ready, they migrate towards the top of epidermis. As newer cells continue to migrate upwards, the older cells near the top die and rise to the surface of your skin. These dead cells eventually flake away when with bath or get dressed  etc. We lose millions of dead cells every day, but new cells constantly replace the older ones.


Proper skin care is not only about looking good, it’s about staying healthy.  Skin is constantly growing and changing, it needs consistent care. Healthy skin is better able to fight signs of ageing, heals faster and protects from disease better than unhealthy skin.  Wrinkles develop with more ease and sink deeper if your skin is not hydrated enough and unhealthy, and it can also result  patches with mottled brown colour.

Adding few simple things can give you healthy skin:

  • Wash daily at least once a day.
  • Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
  • Protect your self from sun. Always make sure to use sunblock if you’re going to spend time outside.
  • Balanced diet to provide the vitamins and minerals which skin needs. Stick with fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean protein for the best results.
  • Never use unprescribed and unlicensed creams on skin.
  • Don’t smoke, for the sake of your overall health as well as your appearance.
  • Start using serums. They are much more concentrated than cream or lotion, so you tend to only need a small amount daily to see results.
  • Keep your smart phone bacteria free,the glass touchscreen on mobile devices are so good at spreading viruses that sharing them. Wipe your phone down with Disinfecting Wipes a few times a day.
  • Lack of sleep– Sleep deprivation lowers circulation, which is why you look pale. Six hour sleep gives you fresh skin.
  • Be patient about the results of medications and beauty tips you use.
  • Regular exercise

People spend enormous amount of money on various face, hair, and body care products. Some people may think as if spending money on skin care products is a waste of time and money. Yet, others may not be aware of the fact that our skin requires a variety of different minerals and nutrients to remain as healthy as possible.

Next time I will give some more helpful tips how to radiate your skin and make it glow with beauty. I will be covering a variety of skin problems and how best to treat them. I will take any questions you have and provide some solutions.
