Pakistani Nasar and Saif on goodwill visit to Colombo

Karachi: Two Pakistan Navy ships i.e. PNS Nasr and Saif to reach Colombo Port on Sunday, March 12, 2017 on four-day goodwill visit.

The port call is part of the strong traditional, professional and brotherly relationship between naval forces of Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Nasr and Saif have taken part in several multinational exercises; Nasr was also among the participants of tsunami relief operations in 2004.

It is also reported that navy officials of both countries will also participate in training activities during the visit.

Nasr (means: help) is a Chinese origin ship which was acquired by Pakistan Navy in August 1987; it is the leading unit of Pakistan Navy’s 9th Auxiliary Squadron and Mine Warfare fleet. Whereas, PNS Saif (means: sword) is an F22P Frigate which was acquired by Pakistani Navy from Chinese naval forces in Sep 2011.
