Doha: President Mamnoon Hussain on Sunday called upon the Qatari govt to increase quota for Pakistani nationals and relax visa terms for mutual benefits.
President Mamnoon was having conversation with Qatari Minister of Administrative Development, Labor and Special Affairs Dr Issa Saad Al-Nauimi, who was called on here and discussed mutual relations in the area of manpower.
The president assured him that Pakistan can provide unskilled, skilled and highly professional manpower in several areas. Moreover, he said that around 125,000 Pakistanis are playing a vital role in the development of brotherly state and consider Qatar as their second home place.
President Mamoon Hussain assured him that Pakistan has huge resource of manpower that can serve the future needs of Qatar, he maintained.
The president told Mr Saad Al-Nauimi that Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani during his visit to Pakistan in 2015 had expressed interest in increasing the export of manpower from Pakistan in the Qatari market.
The matter was again discussed during the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Qatar in February 2016, he added.
Separately, the Qatari minister said his country is keen in appointing Pakistani labor and professionals in the areas of medicines, nursing and engineering. He added the process for inviting Pakistani manpower would be hastened after devising a mechanism.
