Washington: Pakistan is at the forefront of the global fight against terrorism and the whole world acknowledges the sacrifices made by the people and its security forces in this struggle.
This was stated by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in a meeting with Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi on the side lines of Nuclear Security Summit in Washington.
He also expressed his profound sadness and deepest condolences at the loss of precious lives in Lahore blast.
Tariq Fatemi thanked the Chinese Foreign Minister for his condolences and expressions of warm sentiments towards the people of Pakistan.
He underscored that terrorism posed a common threat to both Pakistan and China.
The Special Assistant reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve to continue its resolute efforts against the scourge of terrorism.
Outlining the Prime Minister’s vision for a peaceful neighbourhood and greater regional connectivity, he outlined the numerous initiatives taken by Pakistan for regional peace and economic development.
The Chinese Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction at the positive trajectory of the ever strengthening strategic partnership between the two countries.
He reaffirmed China’s commitment for an early completion of the CPEC related initiatives.
He stressed that both sides should continue efforts exploring the possibility of increasing high-level contacts.
