Pakistan arrests 85 Indian fishermen, Karachi

Karachi: Pakistan Maritime Security officials arrested 85 Indian fishermen for allegedly violating territorial limits.

Apprehended fishermen were captured on Saturday evening along with their 154 boats from Pakistan’s city and were taken to the police station in Karachi. The fisher men have to be presented before the court on Monday (today) as reported.

The long sea border between both countries is not well defined due to which Pakistani and Indian fishermen are frequently detained for violating Arabian Sea territory while netting their hunt. They spend long time in each other’s jails before being set due to strong tension between both countries. Due to poor diplomatic ties between countries, fishermen also remain behind bars after completing their term which takes long time to complete bureaucratic requirements.
