Pak-Iran gas pipeline is in interest of both countries: ambassador
RAWALPINDI (Online): Iranian ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost has underlined the need of promotion of business relations which would benefit the people of both countries. He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Pak Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He said that both countries were working on Pak Iran Gas Pipeline project and other initiatives for power generation and said that Iran intends to explore new avenues of mutual cooperation besides promoting bilateral relations among two brotherly countries.
He said that the Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline was in the interest of both the countries. Pakistan will get adequate gas with cheaper rates and industrial production would thus increase.
President Pak Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry Wali Muhammad said that Pakistan and Iran are cooperating in various fields. He stated that both the countries have important role in the Muslim Ummah and by enhancing their cooperation further the two countries can play effective role at the international level. He also pointed out trade related activities would be promoted at the platform of Joint Chamber.
Vice President Pak-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khurshid Barlas stressed upon the need for developing institutional linkages between the two countries for achieving higher growth and cooperation in trade and industry.
The heads of trade bodies lauded the efforts of Federal Minister for Commerce and Industry Khurram Dastagir and Iranian Ambassador to boost bilateral trade and economic ties. They said that Pak Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce would provide opportunities to business community to find trade promotion activities in both countries.
