One of the IS (Islamic State) suicide bombers who had killed 32 people and had left dozens of people wounded in the Brussels attack on Mar 22nd had worked as a cleaner for a small period in the European Parliament 6 years earlier, said a spokesperson for EU assembly on Thursday.
In 2009 & 2010, “one of the perpetrators of Brussels terrorist attacks worked for a period of 1 month for a cleaning company that was contracted by the European Parliament at the time,” spokesperson Jaume Duch Guillot stated in a statement that didn’t name the individual.
An EU official also said that the person was Najim Laachraoui, who was a 25 year old Belgian who according to the prosecutors blew himself up in Brussels airport attack.
He is also alleged of manufacturing the suicide vests for last Nov’s Paris attacks that had left 130 people dead.
At the time of his brief work in parliament, Laachraoui had no criminal record, said the spokesperson for EU Parliament.
