One killed, 13 wounded as building collapses in Lahore
LAHORE: A man was killed and 13 others, including four women, wounded when an old building collapsed near Nisar Haveli in Akbari Gate area of walled city.
The sources claimed that more than ten grenades have also been recovered the rubble of the collapsed building.
The Rescue 1122 staff rushed to the scene and recovered the victims from debris and shifted them to hospital.
The collapse became the reason of panic in the surrounding public locality as people thought it was a bomb blast.
The local police and Edhi ambulances also rushed to the scene and kicked off their rescue services. There was a thick smoke on the sky soon after the incident.
The bomb disposal squad also reached the scene to ascertain whether it was a terrorist activity or an accident. However, the bomb disposal squad official said it did not cause explosion as it was filled with soil and there was no evidence of its triggering in the incident.
The sources added that the bodies were identified as Faisal and the injured as Tajamul Hussain, Fida Hussain, Salman, Shahbaz, Zahid, Irum, Naseem Akhtar, Amina, Ali, Haroon, Salman Ali, Maryam Shahbaz and Iqra.
