Nawaz Statement, N-League, Sharif Family Grouping, Fear of Failure in Upcoming Election

Lahore: Nawaz Sharif has issued a statement that there is obvious grouping within PMLN. Eight ministers including many members of Assembly have blamed Nawaz Sharif’s statement to be the cause of not only Pakistan but the Party as well as anticipated defeat in the upcoming elections.

Certified sources claim that Maryam Nawaz after a strong reaction against her father’s statement has attempted to get multiple ministers and members of assembly to defend the actions of the former Prime Minister, however, many of them rejected her efforts to be involved in the matter and while some initially accepted the task of appearing on television to give interviews on the issue, later switched off their phones so they could not be contacted.

Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif

Sources claim that on the one hand differences are erupting between the brothers, Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, while on the other Pervaiz Rashid, Mushahid Ullah Khan, Maryam Aurangzeb and Maryam Nawaz including some of Sharif’s closest members of assembly, respectively have advised Sharif to stand by his statement that there should be neither any flexibility nor any room for debate.

According to sources, two federal ministers considered close to Sharif with strong ties to Punjab, have advised the ex-Prime Minister that he must respond to the statement in this regard by exposing the Indian agencies and highlighting Kalbhooshan Yadav’s activities within Pakistan so that the matter can be contained. None the less, sources claim that those close to Sharif have clearly warned him against doing so and have gone so far as to say that Shehbaz Sharif should release a statement of his own which can be considered the standing up for or as a denial of the earlier statement released by Nawaz Sharif.

Furthermore, sources of the PMLN claim that after a strong reaction to the statement, members of the assembly who prior to this refused to leave the party are now not only considering leaving but are also in view of running as independent candidates in the upcoming elections. Certified sources have even affirmed that Sharif’s controversial statement has caused a rift in the Party as well as in the family, respectively.
