Nawaz Sharif has resumed his rally towards Lahore via GT Road on the second day and reached Gojar Khan till this news was filed.
The caravan has now accelerated its journey on the directions of Khawaja Saad Rafiq and now travelling at the speed of 100 km/h. Saad Rafiq is driving the vehicle of Nawaz Sharif.
Yesterday, the journey of 18 kilometres was covered in 12 hours. The former premier spent Wednesday night in Punjab House after being welcomed at different places in Rawalpindi.
Security arrangements have been tightened alongside the rally route. Bomb disposal squad has also done the search operation of the route. A vehicle, equipped with gadgets to jam signals of bombs and other devices, is also accompanying the vehicles included in the Nawaz Sharif’s rally.
Commenting on the rally, Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that the successful rally has proved that Nawaz Sharif is the popular leader of Pakistan. His steps taken for the development of the country will be remembered forever. He said the ‘Dharna Party’ and some corrupt elements are fed up of the Nawaz Sharif’s popularity. He said masses have seen the real face of the Mr Niazi.
PML-N leader Zaeem Qadri has said that our rally is not against anyone rather it is in the favour of the public. We are not protesting against anyone.
