NAB arrests former Food Minister Balochistan in corruption case

Quetta: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday has arrested former Balochistan Food Minister Asfandyar Kakar under corruption allegations. 

Anti-corruption department also arrested former deputy director food Balochistan in connection with the case. Both are alleged of causing financial loss of over Rs. 2 billion to the national treasury.

NAB has filed three references against former minister for illegally selling out 256,000 bags of 100 kilograms of wheat from a store in Pishin district.

The former minister was shifted to regional headquarter of NAB after Balochistan High Court rejected his bail plea.

Asfandyar Khan Kakar has served in the provincial cabinet of former Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani as food minister. He was elected from Pishin, Balochistan on a ticket of Pakistan Peoples Party.
