Mush says sit-ins will remain fruitless
DUBAI: Former president and chief of army staff Gen Pervez Musharraf has ruled out the possibility of any martial law saying gatherings (sit-ins) would come to an inconclusive end.
“Any possibility of martial law stands ruled out. The sit-ins would conclude without bearing any fruit. If no change comes then the next Prime Minister (PM) would be Nawaz Sharif”, he said this in an exclusive talks with a private TV channel.
He held army would not impose martial law but courts should play their role. The government is responsible for the prevailing situation. The government seems to have been confused and it should resign, he added.
Responding to a question he said the government has failed to deliver. The allegations leveled by Imran Khan against Nawaz Sharif are correct, he underlined.
People will continue to come on the roads unless justice is administered to them, he remarked.
But PTI and PAT earlier staged sit-ins but they proved fruitless and the present dharnas will also prove fruitless, he observed.
