Islamabad: Members of National Assembly supposed parliament lobby to be a wrestling ring on Thursday; they thrashed and abused each other.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI’s) youth leader Murad Saeed punched Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N’s) MNA Javed Latif on face in parliament lobby. Exchange of harsh words was also reported.

During the Assembly’s session, when Javed Latif was talking about Pakistan Super League (PSL) final, Murad Saeed interrupted him. Upon this Latif commented that Tehreek-e-Insaaf members are trained this way by their higher leadership, referring to PTI chief’s statement calling foreign players “Phateechar”, which made Saeed furious.

When both legislators came out of the assembly hall, they exchanged harsh words during which Saeed lost his temper and punched Latif on his face. However, parliamentarians standing around intervened and stopped them to escalate the matter.

Speaker Nation Assembly Ayyaz Sadiq also took notice of the incident and asked for CCTV footage of the lobby.
