Maryam Safdar & Hussain Nawaz’s Sons; Junaid Safdar & Zakaria Hussain, Jailed in London

The Metropolitan Police today arrested the son of Maryam Safdar Nawaz, Junaid Safdar, in a scuffle close to Avenfield flats. Authorities detained him over a physical assault of protestor, along with his cousin, Hussain Nawaz’s son, Zakaria Hussain.
According to the UK law, Junaid Safdar has committed an offense of “Assualt Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm”, stipulated in section 47 of the Offences Against Persons Act,1861. Upon conviction, Junaid Safdar could be imprisoned for 5 years.
Junaid Safdar claimed that the protesters outside the Avenfield House, for which his parents have been detained, had spit on and tried to attack him.
Zakaria Hussain, Hussain Nawaz’s son, was also arrested along with Junaid Safdar, London Police confirmed.
In a tweet, Maryam Nawaz aforesaid the “PTI employees stationed outside London flat yelled and hurled abuses when they saw Junaid outside the Avenfield House.
“Anyone would have reacted,” she tweeted in an attempt to justify her son’s actions.
Earlier, Nawaz Sharif and his daughter, Maryam Nawaz, had reached London’s Heathrow airport to return to Pakistan.
Sharifs had arrived in London before Eid-ul-Fitr and were expected to land in Pakistan, Rawalpindi, around 6 PM today, to surrender to NAB after being indicted by the court in the Avenfield reference case.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had disclosed earlier that it’s organized 2 helicopters to shift the father-daughter couple to the Adiala jail following their arrival in Pakistan
